Pinhole glasses are characterized by their lenses with round holes. They are not suitable for driving vehicles or practicing extreme sports.
If you need glasses to read, watch television, use the computer, ... that is, to see from a distance or see up close, you can use pinhole glasses, which will help you reduce eye stress, improve your visual acuity and keep the visual system stimulated.

Eye stress is mainly the effect of keeping your gaze at the same or almost unchanged distance and in a range of reduced or no movements for long periods of time and on a routine basis it has a cumulative effect. In general, it occurs when looking at stationary flat objects such as: televisions, computer monitors, tablets. This effect can also occur to a greater or lesser extent in studying or reading and is more likely if it is done with the use of prescription glasses or contact lenses.

When using pinhole glasses, you see better because the holes make the light concentrate and enter in a straight line, directly hitting the macula (central area of ​​the retina), the point of greatest visual acuity. This is known as the pinhole effect.

They are especially indicated for all vision symptoms for which prescription glasses are usually prescribed: myopia, hyperopia, astigmatism and presbyopia (tired vision). Specifically, they are used for all symptoms with a graduation between 0 and 5 diopters. For higher graduations smaller holes are required.

When using pinhole glasses we must look through one hole at a time, jumping our gaze from one point to another. This avoids staring and encourages continuous eye movement. After using reticular glasses, the eyes are relaxed and more alive, and visual perception is usually better than before. This effect is temporary and requires consistency to acquire a more permanent character.

It is advisable to adopt the following habit: vary the focus distance every 20 minutes, to about 20 meters (or more) for about 20 seconds. For example, if you are looking at the computer screen for at least 20 seconds and looking through a window.
